Christo Vardakis
President
Christo Vardakis is the President and Founder of Alpha-Ωmega Payroll Solutions, LTD. Christo graduated from Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting. He then worked for an accounting firm providing payroll and accounting help. A few years later, in 1986, he decided to branch out on his own and create what is now known as ‘Christo Vardakis & Associates, LLC & Alpha-Ωmega Payroll Solutions, LTD.' Once he started ‘Vardakis Payroll Service,' he worked closely with the head programmer to have the payroll program modified. Today, Christo still speaks with the head programmer, who is now in the payroll business, on a regular basis. In 1999, he decided to merge his payroll company with another company to concentrate on his accounting and tax practice. The accounting and tax practice has been thriving since 1986.
In 2014 Christo branched out on his own and started Alpha-Ωmega Payroll Solutions, LTD. He and his wife came up with the name while attending a memorial service in church during July of 2014. Christo is the sole owner of the company and has the vision to grow this company with qualified help. ‘His employees are
thoroughly educated on payroll regulations and various payroll Federal and State laws to assist you, the client in keeping compliant.
Christo is an active member of his local American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association {AHEPA}, various Chamber of Commerce organizations, and professional associations. He is also very involved with his local church and various philanthropic organizations. He looks to get involved wherever he can help. One organization raises and distributes funds for scholarships. He and his wife, Kiki, have two wonderful children, and he enjoys spending time with his family.
Maria Pollatos
Payroll Processor
Maria Pollatos, Payroll Processor, has been working in the accounting/payroll industry since she was in college. She started doing bookkeeping for small companies, processing payroll, and filing tax returns. Upon graduation from Montclair State University with a Degree in Accounting, Maria started working for an accounting firm. Here she gained knowledge and exposure to various accounting tasks such as:
- Preparing quarterly and annual payroll returns such as W-2's and 1099's
- Preparing sales tax and filing sales tax returns
- Preparing individual and corporate tax returns
Maria also worked as a business manager in a dental office for 16 years. Here she handled accounts receivable, accounts payable, and daily business transactions. She also dealt with patients on a regular basis and managed the day-to-day transactions involved with running a doctor's office.
Maria is married to Adam who is a florist. She assists him during his busy seasons. Although it can be very stressful since one is dealing with situations where time is of the essence, she does enjoy the simple pleasure that flowers can bring. Being part of the creative team and helping to design arrangements with something that has been made so beautiful by nature can be very inspiring. Being involved in someone's wedding day and seeing the joy on a bride and groom's faces when they see the finished result is the most rewarding.
Philosophy: Life is short so try to enjoy every moment. Always strive to do your best. Always be kind to people and don't take advantage of others. Let your loved ones know they are loved and cherished. Be grateful and learn to appreciate the simple things. Sometimes these are what make up life's greatest moments.
Markella Georgalou
Payroll Processor
Markella Georgalou, Payroll Processor, attended The College of Staten Island, in Staten Island NY and The Cittone Institute now known as Lincoln Tech, in Paramus, NJ with a degree in Computer Networking and Microsoft Software. She has been with Christo Vardakis & Associates since January 2004 and Alpha-Ωmega Payroll Solutions, LTD since August of 2014. Markella helps manage the company network while troubleshooting and maintaining the software so it's up-to-date and functioning properly. She also processes payrolls.
Markella is an active member of Chios Society of New Jersey and Northern Chios Society of Pelineon “ St. Markella” Upstate New York. Both are a not for profit organizations.
Markella likes to travel. She is involved with a couple of not for profit organizations and likes to organize parties. She also likes to help at her local church.
